Devil's Sink
Location
From Gainesville, take S-20 toward Hawthorne. Look for route
CR-21. After you see this road travel 1.8 miles farther on S-20. Turn left onto
Lake Galilee Dr. Take this road up the hill for 100-200 yards and take the dirt
road to the left after the 1st mobile home on the left. This is not much of a
road and should be taken with a truck for adequate ground clearance. Follow
this shady road for about 0.3 miles and you will be able to see the sink on the
left.
Description
The sink drops down sharply about 75' to the water level.
The water head pool is about 20-30 yards across and has depths to about 80'.
You should plan on bringing vertical gear to get in and out of the sink. The
only way in and out is a very sketchy ladder tied off to a tree.
