Description
This is a quarry that was mined for granite during the
construction of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. An aquifer was hit and Lake
Rawlings was created. The bottom is granite, so there is not much to stir up.
The visibility is very good and averages between 20'-50'. The maximum depth is
65', but most of what there is to see is above 30'. Attractions include
off-shore floating dock, lots of fish, 4 training platforms, school bus, two
cabin cruisers, "The Replacements" sailboat, 4 smaller boats, 2 cars, and
countless lawn ornaments.
