Philpott Resevoir - Goose Point

Location
Take I-81 to Exit 114. Take Route 8 South for 40 miles. Turn left on
Rt. 57 and follow 11 miles to Route 822. Go 4 miles to a parking lot on the
left. There is diving on the left side. If you continue on the road 0.75 miles
there is a boat ramp. There is a daily use entrance fee of $2 per vehicle.
Description
Silty bottom with tree trunks and branches. The ground
slopes down from the shores to depths unknown (we only took it down to 70'). No
aquatic life was encountered, but we did find the beer can, spare tire, and
cinder block to make it an official dive site. We also came across several full
55 gal drums, which was sketchy. Not much to see at this site, but there are
other entry points to the resevoir.
