Summersville Lake
A look at the "Long Point" dive.
Location
From Blacksburg, take 460W toward West Virginia. Take I-77
North toward Beckley (there is on toll plaza on the road). Take Route 19 North
toward Summersville. Turn left onto Airport Road, toward the Summersville Lake
marinia. Follow signs to the Dive Shop and Marina.
Description
Man-made lake enclosed by a rock fill dam. Depths extend
down to over 300'. Offers excellent wall dives, rock formations, swim throughs,
and fish. Rock jumping is also abundent from the many cliffs surrounding the lake.
